COMBINING BATTERY POWER WITH DCC

Over the years Radio Control using batteries, as a form of model railroad control, and DCC using track power have both had a number of key advantages and key disadvantages. In this clinic, we will discuss and demonstrate the opportunities that exist in combining these two technologies. We will also provide a description of how this is currently accomplished and a provide a vision towards the future.

NAPA PIPE - HERE'S AN INDUSTRY THAT USES STEEL

Napa Pipe fabricated high pressure welded steel pipe in California.  They received steel plate and shipped out pipe loads, both by rail.  This clinic will include a tour of the fabrication plant as well as pictures of incoming and outgoing loads.  Models of incoming and outgoing loads will also be displayed and discussed.  Pipe manufacture would make an interesting industry to absorb the output of an on-line or off layout steel mill.
